TW rom has a higher version than the WW rom, maybe that is the main reason? Not too sure. Initially, I wanna try the TW ROM but decided to try out the WW ROM first, know there will more bloatware for Taiwanese which I will not use in Singapore.
Stan97, thanks for your tips i also successfully upgraded the ROM to from SKU SG StarHub to WW sku version and rooted. Follow that there's also an OTA update.
Took the opportunity with the new version of the TW and WW update to try flashing again from TW .16 to latest WW. Flashed without issues, overall less bloat and no garmin partition, lost root but im not terribly bothered by that

Great. Starhub rom is very very old ending with .9 vs the latest .26 but i lost my root after the update from .12 to .26 for the WW ROM.
Just Updated the latest TW .26 ROM. Yes, confirm framaroot not working anymore. Camera Firmware updated from 71064 to 71074. Overall color improved! Excellent! Differences spotted as the brightness display settings of the camera always set at 0, use to able for user define after close app. (Too bright! for me).

Well Framaroot worked for me on that TW firmware, others too. Just to confirm you used the latest 1.42 Framaroot? It has updated from the version most of us had used initially.
so are we saying that from TW to WW works? I'm about to try.

ok phone won't power back up now. just keeps having the "loading" icon running. Am able to enter recovery mode but don't see any files after the phone said it required to reboot due to partition change. any idea?s
THEN you repeat the steps mentioned to update the firmware. After the re-partitioning, do wait a minute or so. is should power up.
PS: note to anyone who's trying this, if you are having the same version as the "upgrade" package, try avoiding this method first. Wait till you have a new update then attempt this. but do backup. Just a theory, the firmware won't "upgrade" if it's the same version.
when you change the SKU, what will happen with the warranty? I called ASUS customer service today and they told me that I´ll lose warranty if I change the SKU. your thoughts about that?
Just posting here to let you guys know that changing from TW to WW does indeed work. Did it on my PFI from TW .29 to WW .26 (yes, "downgrade" works too).
Here are some tips :
1) The zip file you want for the "Update" is actually INSIDE the zip file you download from Asus' website
2) Follow the steps to flash the Update once; for TW to WW, it will have to repartition and once you repartition, you lose everything on the phone, including /sdcard contents; so you will need to do a "Wipe data / factory reset" from recovery immediately after the repartitioning
3) After the Wipe Data / Factory reset, you will have to copy the zip file back to the phone and run update the 2nd time
4) This time, it didn't complete for me either; booted into the OS and gave me a "Firmware update failed" notification
5) What I did was tapped on the notification and redo the update. This time it finally worked.
I have a New Padfone Infinity (A86) with CHT_10.12.3.116, can I change the SKU in WW_11.2.5.20? Which are the right steps to perform? I have saw the thread but I'm novice and I want to be sure!
