Just a heads up I had to factory reset my device after unlocking, basically after running the APK any setting that had to do with the mobile network kept crashing, and my phone/contacts app refused to show up.

After some fiddling, I've managed to compile a working version of TWRP.

Going to do some testing before I upload it somewhere to make sure it doesn't brick phones or anything.

Why don't you create a new topic for this so that people can find it easily... even I missed it

You can't brick your padfone by using xposed, when I tried it on my padfone 2 it worked, so I don't see why it wouldn't work on the Infinity

hi guys.
im new on here, and havent really done any modding on my phone for a long time.... so i thought id unlock my PFI and put the new kitkat update on.

i already had root on the phone... did it last year.
i did an ota update to it yesterday, and it installed 2 updates.
now on HK 10.6.9.32.

when i go to unlock the phone im getting an error saying
"an unknown error occurs, which may be a network connection issue.
please wait and try again later"

anyone have an idea what might be going on?

cheers
Ryan

I also get that same message when I want to unlock my bootloader using the app. Is there something wrong? I tried using both connected WiFi and 4G.

WW 10.6.9.33, rooted.

Any other way to unlock bootloader to install CWM recovery?

I am still not able to unlock the bootloader. Should I factory reset the PadFone Infinity and try again?

i think we will have a recovery soon.. TWRP flavored

but i have a problem that is pissing me off.
i can't unlock it..
i keep getting an error saying it has encountered an unknown error that is possibly network related..
well my networks are fine..

i am rooted on the latest JB WWE

any idea?

Same error here,

AFAIK it's a common error in repaired Asus devices

The unlock tool sends to an Asus server a couple identifiers from your phone and compares them to the ones they have stored. If th identifiers match, they send you the needed signature to unlock the device. While rebooting your device reads the signature, unlocks itself and boots.

I've read in xda that some people could unlock after opening a case with support... but I belive that it will depend on who takes your case, so Good Luck

I have a repaired device. Apparently the motherboard is changed since then. I am trying to flash old ROMs on this device to try and get the Unlock App to work!
