I've downloaded the OTA for the firmware update.

My phone reboot and starting to install the update. However, the installation stopped halfway and prompted the error below.

Verifying current system...
"/system/app/ASUSBrowser.apk" has unexpected contents.
E:Error in /cache/dlpkgfile
(Status 7)
Error in /cache/dlpkgfile
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

Anyone facing this issue?

probably you did root your PFI and removed ASUS Browser so OTA can't be installed

Thanks for your reply and appreciate it.

Yup, i did root my padfone and removed Asus Browser.
But i tried to reinstall the Asus Browser and yet it's still failed to update.

Do you have any solution for this?
Or i need to wipe off everything and start all over again?

yep because it's gonna check so many apk, odex, bla bla so you can't do install the OTA correctly on a rooted device which doesn't have the original files

just create /ASUS/Update folder structure on your PFI then put the http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/Mobile_Phone/PadFone_Infinity/UL-A80-WW-11.8.10.60-user.zip there (it's for WW version, downloads : http://www.asus.com/Tablets_Mobile/PadFone_Infinity_A80/HelpDesk_Download/)

disconnect the usb cable, you'll see the update file detected message

update and gain root again, now you can remove bloatwares again

no settings or files will be removed in this way because you're on a same base "11.8.10.x"

Thanks man for your great help.

Will the update wipe off my current phone memory?

Message was editted at 07:36AM:

Hi persianpros.

After downloaded the zip file and copied to ASUS/Update folder, there's no update file detected message when disconnecting the USB.

Tried to reboot and copy a multiple times but still no update file detected message coming out.

Any idea on this?

+1 to lasst poster: There is nothing after downloading zip (wich is actually jar) in /sdcard/ASUS/Update (or did you (persianpros) mean exactly /ASUS/Update in the *root* of PFI filesystem)?

red : if you have same base "11.8.10.x" the answer is no

blue : do you have WW SKU or some other SKU ? as i said my link is for WW version , downloads : http://www.asus.com/Tablets_Mobile/PadFone_Infinity_A80/HelpDesk_Download/

green : no need to do more than 2 times just have "ASUS" folder in your PFI storage and "Update" folder inside it then put the ota zip file there

/sdcard/ASUS/Update is true not the root filesystem

check your SKU first

same here. WW SKU .54, but ignores that jar-zip pushed to /sdcard/ASUS/Update.

// Btw, it'd be nice if ASUS would not be such jerks and allow users with unlocked bootloader update OTA on their risk. But no, they forbids :'(
// btw, I checked files from system/* in the .60 archive and it is mostly identical to ones on PFI filesystem an .54 fw :-/ So, probably, changes (from changelog) is somewhere else (maybe even it is only build.prop touched)

hhmm , is your bootloader unlocked ? i didn't unlock mine because it was unnecessary in my opinion as i can delete bloatwares after root

btw here is the changelogs :

11.8.10.24 ~ 11.8.10.38 :

1. Fixed the issue with taking burst photos when using a camera filter device
2. Improved the compatibility of Asus Launcher
3. Fixed the status bar issue
4. Fixed the issue when previewing the video on Google Play
5. Fixed the volume issue with pad mode
6. Improved the compatibility between Music and Google Driver

11.8.10.38 ~ 11.8.10.54 :

1. Improve backlight issue
2. Fix the display issue in Carkit mode

11.8.10.54 ~ 11.8.10.60 :

1. Improved the actual keys’ background light
2. Improved the audio quality of the Audio Wizard
3. Improved the SD card compatibility of exFat format via OTG
4. Improved cursor display
5. Improved Garmin voice navigation system
6. Fixed 3G connection issue within Ultra-saving mode
7. Improved the compatibility of 3rd party app (DragonVale)
