So according to this website the they know the following about the Padfone 2:
-The phone has a 4.7" display. -The phone has a 720p resolution display. -The Padfone Station has a 1080p resolution display. -The phone will be docked in portrait mode/angle. -A Quad Core (Snapdragon S4) CPU. -4G support.
The quadcore and LTE would be nice but just because they announce it does not mean it will be available right away. How long after the announcement of the PF did the units actually appear on the market, even if only in Taiwan.
I don't really like the idea of having the phone docked in portrait mode, but I guess I have to see it first before I'm going to judge...
But I think it will take at least another year from now before this one hits the market...
Edit: Right now, when you lay down the Padfone Station, and you press on the upper edges of the screen, the station wigles... I guess this will be worse when you dock the phone in portrait mode, even if it's thinner...
The display is a given considering specs of todays phones and tablets. 720p and 1080p is a must.
I dont mind which way the phone faces, but ideally so it isnt so top heavy. The lightest touch on the top of the screen when docked makes it fall over.
I like the screen since it a must have nowaday like Zed said but I would love to see other specs first. It would be nice if all the delay is gone on padfone2 and hope it's not coming soon...since I just bought padfone... about 4.7" screen, my previous phone was Galaxy Note and I think it's too big for one-hand usage (usable but not comfortable) but now with 4.3" I feel like it's already good enough since you can switch to tablet if you want bigger screen so I don't quite understand what's the point making the phone bigger.
4.3 is good enough as I mainly slip it into side pocket. As I am in UK with no LTE support, so I am happy with Padfone 1!
4.3 does seem the ideal size to me. I don't like these huge screens. And who needs 720P on the phone when you can have 1080P on the tablet?
BTW 4G is coming to the UK very soon - probably in time for the iPhone 5, since Everything Everywhere got the go ahead to start 4G and already have the equipment in place.
Would'nt it be a big frustration for after having to wait for almost a year to get the Padfone 1 and now they are talking about version 2 after a few months of the version 1 release. I got mine in July in Taiwan ....

Talking is one thing, but if they bring it out within a year of the curent one, that would be a frustration to me...
But these are all rumours, so nothing official yet...
