Is the phone's screen arrangement not the same as that of the station?
I changed my phone's home screen arrangement. I removed and add some apps and created new folders. When I put the phone to the station I am expecting to see the same thing but it still showing the old layout.
Do I have to configure the station again? Why it is not following the phone's layout?
The padfone and the station do not copy each others layout of the homescreens and my opinion is that it is for the better. You have so much more space on the station, so why would you want the same layout..:-)
The main selling point of padfone is that what you put in your phone you also got to see in the tablet and vice versa. This kinda defeat that don't you think?
no, the main selling point is you get what you have on your phone in your tablet, not necessarily the layout
Commonly, people use a portrait mode on the phone, and landscape on the tablet. So it would be very weird if you have a layout with widget using 5x8 grid and it stays the same when you use your tablet. Usually people do things differently on tablet and on phone. you sir, are the 1st one complaining about this thing as I recall. since PF1 came out, people look for ways to have separate launcher for phone and tablet, and that's where padfone launcher switcher plays the role. You can have what you want though with padfone launcher switcher by using a 3rd party launcher like apex, nova, or anything you want, set on the phone and set on the tablet, then you get what you see in your phone, in your tablet, with some deformation of widget of course depending on how you set it

Totally agreed and he is definitely the first person to complain about this.

It is a valid expectation especially for someone who has not owned a padfone before. Maybe I am the first one to complain in this thread but I doubt I am the first one to have that expectation. In fact the same comment was echoed by my friends when I showed them the phone.
As I said this is a valid expectation. As you know you could load hundreds of apps in your phone/tablet and your favorite or mostly used apps could get lost in that sea of apps. That is why we have short cuts or why they gave us the option to choose which apps goes to which screen. So after hours of arranging your favorite apps to go to which screen or folder you definitely don't want to repeat that again in your tablet.
If I am Asus I would have given my users the option to keep the phone's layout or the tablet's layout.
Well, everybody have their own idea when making a launcher. many people are not satisfied with google default launcher also, with not so many features applied like 3rd party launcher did. That's where 3rd party came and satisfy you. Do I blame google for not having it as an option? I wouldn't think so. Maybe Asus would do it someday, who knows. but caters the wish of minority wouldn't do good (especially when it can be solved in a jizz using 3rd party launcher) compared to updating the firmware and stabilizing the firmware like the majority wants right? I don't think it's a kind of issue that would make you kill yourself or throw your padfone out like wifi issue, or battery issue, or reboot issue. And I'm pretty sure no one can make everybody happy, there's always some who's unhappy, and that's life.
And seriously, this is the 1st time this issue arise after 3 generation padfone, meanwhile as a PF1 user myself, people are screaming earlier on how to use a different set of launcher or keyboard when on the phone and on the tablet by using tasker until padfone launcher switcher came out. it even got stickied, the tutorial.
