Asus Singapore reply on change.org:
Dear All, We are glad to inform you that the firmware update for PadFone 2 will be available by end of Q2, 2014. You may refer to the link below for more details: http://www.asus.com/sg/News/MSrFP0lWzr5H7jGl Thank you for your patience and kind patronage!
My reply:
Padfone 2 is Padfone A68 model. This petition is for Padfone A66 model, the first model of padfone series. Padfone A66 is the model with padfone keyboard dock and it isn't mentioned on news about update posted by Asus. Infact Padfone2 is A68, Padfone Infinity is A80 and The New Padfone Infinity is A86.
As of now, we do not have information on the updates for PadFone 1. We will let you know as soon as this is available, and will also feedback your inquiry to the relevant team.

Some thoughts. I think that 100 petitions is not enough people to get Asus developing a new firmware update.
Sadly, Asus, as other developers, wants us to buy a new phone as soon as possible. The more devices they sell, the more money they make. Probably they made their economical analysis about the performance they get from the investment on new firmwares for old devices. Probably the only took into account the impact of new firmwares in the updated device sales, and not in future sales, and so they stop developing when they calculate that the device is not available on the market any more, even residual units. A68 is getting a firmware update Q2 2014, around 1.5 years after its release. A66 got its last firmware update was on 2013.10.22, 1.5 years after its release.
Also, that self-device impact analysis usually justifies that the less they update old products, the sooner the product becomes old, the sooner you'll be tempted to change. That analysis doesn't take into account other impacts, like enviromental impact -it's horrible to think that your business goes better when more trash is being produced. Or the reputation of the company, or the feelings of the users, that can end up feeling cheated. It's a very short-term view of the market, specially when you're dealing with early adopters. And Padfone 1 was for early adopters. On the other side, Apple -I'm far from a fanboy, but I can understand good marketing habits- released iOS 7.1 for iPhone 4 3.5 years after its release. Those buyers won't feel cheated and will consider a new iPhone in the future. This forum is full of people saying bye to Asus.
To be a little optimistic: It would be good to know how many A66 Padfones were sold, it would give us a good view of possible commercial impact of the new firmware, what is something that can interest Asus more. Does anybody know how to know that?

Wel said! And to be a little pessimist, I'm willing to say: "ASUS sucks!"
