Had quite a few lock ups on the weekend on my freshly factory reset NPFI, both docked and undocked.
Once was when the phone was the GPS unit in the car. Had to pull over and restart phone. **** you ASUS, I am already looking for a replacement phone and tablet and it won't be from ASUS. I do still like your motherboards though.
I don't have any issues other than the Random Reboots, they are really starting to annoy me now though :S
Absolutely, mine doesn't reboot though, it just freezes and requires a hard reboot. It froze last night without me knowing so I missed a text from my wife that she needed a pick up from the train station until she called the land line. Big trouble. Again, **** you ASUS.
This device is now not fit for service. Looking for a secondhand LG G3 on Ebay and will match up with a Samsung 12.2" tablet.
also experienced that freeze and a reboot using the camera. so i didn't use my A86 in the wait for a fix from asus. my A80 run KitKat since early august and I swear it never got a random reboot nor freeze. so asus know how to do it, being aware of that problem where is the fix?
I am using TW SKU, here is how updated the phone: unziped the main archive, copied it to main phone storage and clicked the update notification and it updated, after the update i had 2 rebots but from then(maybe two weeks) i don't have any random rebots, the only bug i that i have is lag when scrolling in chrome in tablet mode.
One more bug - the device sometimes can't find the camera (it says "No camera found", or some thing like this) and i have to restart it in order to find the camera.
Has anybody sent in their phone to Asus due to the random reboot problemacy? I wonder what the service will say...
Im wondering because my NPFI has been sent to service twice in the past 4 weeks. I just received it back and the Wifi performance is still crappy as hell. On top of that I am experiencing the random reboots approx. 5-10 times a day with the KK Rom. The suggesion of Asus to upgrade to KK due to the Wifi errors has made things worse.
If they will say this is a hardware error I would be able to get a refund for the phone which I am considering to be the only solution at this point (outdated OS, battery life a pain in the ass, wifi not working properly, random reboots etc.)
1. did you have root prior to KK? 2. did you wipe your phone prior to installing KK?
I had an RR driving to work one morning running Xialive internet streaming & TomTom GPS -- prior to root on KK being available. << I did have root prior to upgrading to KK & I did NOT wipe my phone clean prior to upgrading.
I'm wondering if the RR's are related to software that's used to running w/ root privileges and weren't able to get permission. If not written correctly, those processes could just be sitting taking up resources.
If you have KK AND Root, let us know if you're getting RR's after you've rooted your phone.

I did a factory wipe on the phone and No Camera issue went away. I do get hard freezes now which require a forced reboot. That can happen when using the camera as well.

I have root and experience the same amount of random freezes.
It is unbelievable we haven't heard anything from ASUS yet.
