Thank you for your input. I tried to do what you described and I realized a small detail: if I push down the button and then connect the HDMI cable to a video output source the loading circle disappears and the screen turns black. Maybe the PadStation only has a software controlled on/off which must be sent via usb?

Is the backlight still on when the screen goes black? maybe you should ry turning it on/off/on via the hw buttoon of the station while connected and holding the push button in the docking bay....

No, it turns off completely, no backlight. I've tried that but it won't work, the tablet stays off. I believe that perhaps the padstation has got nothing to do with the hw button than to pass it over through usb to the Padfone.

Yes 1280 x 800 is what I mean

Since the station isn't really a monitor it won't support multiple resolutions, so if the feed is not it's native one it will just go black..

Hi everybody. I tried this last thing you guys mentioned and the PC manages to detect the PadStation, but the image shown is still the loading circle, but it lasts as long as I press down the button inside the dock.
