So I just ordered my PT. I am slowly going through all the messages here to get my self up to speed on certain topics and so I am wondering what apps are not useful to those of us outside of Taiwan.
And what did *you* do with them? Did you leave them in the app drawer or are you rooted and removed them.
The entire first row of apps on this screenshot are apps that came pre-loaded, and that I've never even opened XD
The other pre-loaded apps contain Garmins StreetPilot (avigation app), and several Asus apps...
I didn't root my Padfone, so I still have the apps... I would recommend to keep them... I've seen a lot of people having trouble upgrading their firmware because they froze or removed pre-loaded apps...
SparkyRih, I rooted my HTC just a few days after I bought my HTC Phone (HTC Glacier - TMobile MyTouch) and then I flashed it with a custom rom. I don't think I will be flashing the PF for a while but I might root it just for the fun of it. Thanks for the screen shot. I guess I will just keep them in the app drawer.
My very first android device was a Toshiba Folio 100, I put a custom rom on it about 2 hours after purchase
My tf101 had a custom rom (revolver), and my SGS2 was also rooted... I even customizedcustom firmwares for PSP's back in the days, so I know what it's all about
But I wait with rooting my Padfone, there are no devs for it, and don't really need the root access atm...
The HAMI apps are pretty much useless elsewhere. unless you read chinese. It's like a media store. Asus give u 3 months free access but i hardly use it so have it disabled.
The miror apps is a bit redundant too. Like the name suggest, it's a mirror which uses the front vga cam. no more no less.
KKBOX and the other app which reads the title in chinese are also useless outside taiwan. so feel free to disable it. these are all the apps i find useless and disabled
StreetPilot and asus vibe is pretty much the only stock apps i keep running. Asus Vibe sometimes give u good price to certain games.
