This device will be targeted at a different price range, so to me it makes sense. Asus said they want to be a premium brand, and that's hard without any premium phones.
why? do you suggest padfone 1 & 2 ain't premium devices? becouse everyone paid a hefty premium to get them in the first place..
just wondering though if in 5 months ASUS comes up with another PF, lets call it "4", and it costs 300$ more than the Infinity, will that make the Infinity a "non premium" device?
You know, at this rate the nex one will be 6 inches big and will cost over 1000 euros. I don't get it how people with such small hands can think of making a screen so large. When it comes to size Pf1 was the best.

Stop being ridicoulus, the mainstream phones will most likely stop at 4,7" and 5", and only the phablets will be bigger.
Just because phones have been getting bigger and bigger it doesn't mean the growing won't stop, I think we've hit the limit of what size most people are comfortable with.
I don't think the PF Infinity is a replacement for the PF2...
They still showed the PF2 on the CeBIT in a restricted B2B erea, so it's not dead...
No, Asus has said several times that the Infinity is targeted at a higher price range and that the PadFone 2 is still in production and very much alive. It's just their "lower-end" model. It's also the same team of programmers making the software for both the PF2 and the Infinity, so they should be updated regularly for the coming 12 months or so. Maybe even more.
@MSIOCGenie: That's pretty much what I was trying to say...

I suppose that means that "in theory" the PF1 will be on the safe side, too.
No... I don't think the PF1 will get a lot of support anymore... They have to release the JB update for WW, but after that, I have the feeling that it's over :S
