Did you try resetting your phone to factory settings? I had similar problem with my PF1 several months ago and this did help.

How to use Smart Remove function of the camera?

Camera -> click on the Shutting modes button (four rectangles)-> choose "Smart Remove".

Camera captures scenery for a few seconds multiple times and checks for objects existing for part of the time only....

Battery life NPFI vs PFI

Well... I can't compare to PFI because I didn't have it, but as I can see from a few days of use NPFI, it works equally or slightly longer than PF1 in phone mode and a bit less time as tablet.

Yes, this is the known bug, AFAIK. The battery voltage was also wrong before one of the updates.
