Can anyone else confirm whether they have a 'pad-only' tab in the application list? I have no such tab, and I'm unable to install any tablet-only application - it says that it's not supported in phone mode - even though I've docked in on the padstation.
It's an equivalent to Lidenburg's rom, but with more choices and updated to latest KitKat. There won't be any problem updating from Lidenburg's rom, if you follow the update procedure I wrote (the one under "INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS", not the other one (which applies only if coming from KitKat)).
Hi Demelza ! Thank you very much for your tutorial and your work for this smartphone !! I take PadFone Infinity 11.8.10.24: Unstored update, the update was made perfectly. I've juste 2 problem, in the boot of the PFI, ASUS want to update the firmware camera, but when i click OK, it fail... Another problem, i can't make photo and go to "Gallery" because the PFI respond "No extern memory available"... But the PFI is unibody :-/
Moreover, my directory "sdcard" is now modified in CWM, I have to go on sdcard/0 to acceed to all my files and zip...
Do you have this problems ? (sorry for my bad english)
This is Asus response to the issue of not being able to change launcher:
"The new firmware is based on zenfone design, and going forward this will be the new layout. So this option is currently what is set, and there is no option to change this just yet.
I cannot give any guarantee if it will be something that will be changed in new releases, but as it it is now, this is intended."
I really despise manufacturers who violates the philosophy of Android and decides what's best for me. If I wanted the manufacturer to make useability decisions for me I would have bought an iPhone. I know I can root to resolve this but I don't think consumers should have to revert to a warranty voiding option to get their devices work the way they want, especially when the OS originally is designed to allow change of launchers. I guess this was the last Asus device I bought
I don't know if this is a cummon problem, but I can't update ASUS What's Next to the new version. Google Play Store says that ASUS What's Next isn't compatible with my phone (Padfone Infinity A80), but it obviously is and it's annoying that I can't update it.
Anyone can confirm the use of Nova Launcher by default? That is one of the apps that I absolutely must have. Does that enable Ok Google? Does root and uninstall ASUS Launcher work well?
Just curious: Anyone on Zen UI and wants to revert back to the 4.1.2 Jellybean?
I've been using Nova laucher for years and thought I would reintall it after 4.4 update, but it's nearly been a month and I don't feel the need to. You can create desktop folders, hide apps in app drawer. Some things missing though, rearange grid, scrollable bottom icons and display no icon names but I prefer keeping it light. Wondering if I will reinstall widget locker as I don't feel the need to atm. Won't downgrade to JB.
My only gripe about the ZenUI Launcher is the layout and widget positions and all. That cannot be easily backed up and transferred across different devices. With Nova I simply need to backup and import.
2nd screenshot: do you know how can I replace / remove the green icons in notification menu? All I could do is I was able to change the blue ones only.
Hopefully someone/ASUS can allow us to customise the green buttons soon! Xposed, perhaps? Prefer the pre-KK/stock KitKat Notification Bar!

I want to report that whilst using Titanium Backup to slowly restore the system apps, when I restored AudioWizard and FM Radio from the 4.1.2 ROM, it added their functional green buttons to the notification bar.
Subsequently I had Uninstalled them and as such brought back only the usual 4 green icons.
As such, I believe modifying the system apps (Quick Memo, Calculator, etc.) will allow us to customise the notification bar.
Had 11.8.10.38 update yesterday on TW firmware (150mb) Seem to have removed the possibility to toggle gps on the quick launch, renamed "localization" and every time asking if I want to allow google apps to access position… annoying... I miss the color picker in the new photo app :/ Also seem to have installed "omlet chat 1.0" as playstore asked to update this app today, what is that?
